Renewable and green energy sources, which includes waste incineration as energy source, development of wind turbines that are suitable to the wind conditions, water turbine, small gas turbines, solar energy usage, and national policy for future of energy.
Natural rubber is one of the important resources in Thailand. Our department has been involved in the research in the rubber industry for a long time. Many research centers were founded and located here. This includes Research Centre for Advanced Computational and Experimental Mechanics (RACE) and Development of Machinery and Industrial Equipment Research Center (DMIE). They feature various rubber products such as solid tires, air tires and rubber gloves.
This research involves supplying technologies to strengthen the country from both domestic and foreign threats. This includes development of rescue robots, defensive vests, and bomb-disposal water cannon.
Computer simulations are gaining tremendous momentum in engineering works nowadays. They can significantly reduce the cost in design cycles and can be used to predict outcomes before they happen for smart decision making. However, accurate simulations require good understandings of Mathematics, Physics and computer programming knowledge and skills. Our department saw this importance and have a variety of simulation works.
Our department is one of the few departments in the country with a curriculum for Aerospace Engineering. It is offered in both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Many related researches in this field are conducted here, including development of unmanned aircrafts, student-made miniature satellites, and control mechanisms of aircrafts and spacecrafts.
Spray particle measurement with optical technics, study of mechanical properties of materials, applications of robotics and mechatronics, student Formula-1 race cars, data-collecting submarines
